Northeastern Federation of Stamp Clubs Minutes of the March 11, 2007 Meeting held during the 2nd Sunday Bourse at Spellman Museum of Stamps and Philatelic History, Weston, MA.

REMINDER OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be a General Annual Meeting, and will be held at 2:00 PM on May 6, 2007 at Philatelic Show 2007 at the Holiday Inn, Boxboro, MA.

President Wayne Rindone called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM.

There was no quorum.

Secretary's Report: The Secretary's Report was accepted as distributed.

Treasurer's Report: Bruce Bolduc reported that 24 clubs have paid their dues, and that 7 clubs are outstanding in their dues. Bruce also reported that the Financial Balance is $10,850.

Old Business: Peter Pierce mentioned that the Speaker's Bureau is active and that he sent a form to member clubs. Member clubs should request speakers by filling out the form and sending the form to Peter. There are 5 6 speakers available; we would like to have 12 speakers for the bureau. Information about the Waterbury, CT Stamp Club should be sent by Bruce to John DuBois to add to the federation web site.

New Business: Philatelic Show 2007: The show budget was provisionally approved. The show insurance proposal for premium option I was approved. Wayne (as the show treasurer) will send the premium check of $383. to the insurance company. The subsidy for Bob Welt to bring a bus of youths to the show will be increased from $100 to $200 for this year only. (Bob had lost a previous source of funding for the bus transportation to the show.) This increased subsidy is accomplished by reallocating the youth budget details, rather than providing additional funding.

The New Haven Philatelic Society had sent Jack an advertisement that they would like to have placed in the show program, and asked what would be the price. The board decided to refer this request to Jeff Shapiro and Bruce (who is printing the show program) for their consideration. Jeff had mentioned (through Wayne) that we need a Security Coordinator. The previous Security Coordinator is no longer available for the show. Jack presented a proposal of Procedures and Training for the Admissions Table. The proposal was accepted pending him updating the proposal with comments from this board meeting. Information from Jeff (through Wayne):

All bourse tables are sold including 2 tables in the Post Office and Agency Room; there is a waiting list in case of any cancellations.

Guy Dillaway reports that there will be more than 152 frames in the Exhibit Area. Gerry Ellis will again manage the Security detail. John Lutz will be producing the show cachet and the show card; he will mail the show cards. Nominating Committee Report Information from Jeff (through Wayne) that the federation Secretary's position will be available for next year. Please contact Jeff with the name of anyone who is interested in filling this position.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be a General Annual Meeting, and will be held at 2:00 PM on May 6, 2007 at Philatelic Show 2007 at the Holiday Inn, Boxboro, MA. The expectation is that as many club reps as possible will attend the General Annual Meeting.
